(KRON) -- A mugshot has been released by the San Jose Police Department for embattled San Jose City Councilmember Omar Torres. Torres was arrested on Tuesday night after a victim came forward with allegations of being repeatedly raped by Torres. Lamar Hernandez-Thorpe on verge of being ousted as Antioch mayor The councilmember, who submitted his resignation this week, has been accused of lewd acts with a child, oral copulation of a minor, and sodomy of a child. According to a police report, Torres raped the victim repeatedly between 1990 and 1999. Omar Torres mugshot (SJPD) The incidents began when the victim was just 4 years old, per police, and continued until 1999, when Torres was 18 and the victim was 13. In a separate incident, Torres is also being investigated for oral copulation of a minor. He has maintained his innocence in that incident. If convicted, Torres is facing a maximum sentence of 24 years in jail.
