SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Several pounds of fentanyl were seized from the Oakland home of a suspected narcotics trafficker who sold drugs in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Three suspects were arrested in the investigation. SFPD’s Narcotics Unit investigated a suspected narcotics trafficker, identified by police as 20-year-old Marvin Izaguirre Varela, and obtained a search warrant for Varela, his vehicle and his Oakland residence. Newsom calls special session to protect liberal policies from Trump presidency On Tuesday at around 9:30 p.m., San Francisco officers watched Varela leave Oakland and arrive in SF, where he was detained on the 900 block of Market Street. Officers searched Varela and found suspected fentanyl and “items related to dealing drugs,” SFPD said. The search warrant was served at Varela’s residence on the 1100 block of 16th Street in Oakland. Narcotics Unit officers uncovered 4.18 pounds of fentanyl and items used for manufacturing and trafficking narcotics, police said. Also seized were U.S. currency and ammunition. Photo: San Francisco Police Department Two more suspects were arrested in Oakland in connection to the narcotics trafficking, identified as 21-year-old male Emilson Benega Ramos and 18-year-old male Cesar Gutierrez Doblad, according to San Francisco police. Varela was arrested and booked into the San Francisco County Jail for possession for sales of a controlled substance, transporting a controlled substance, maintaining a premise where narcotics are manufactured/stored and conspiracy. Ramos and Doblad were arrested and booked into the Santa Rita Jail for possession of fentanyl for sale, maintaining a premise where narcotics are manufactured/stored and conspiracy. Last week, SFPD arrested a 22-year-old Oakland man for allegedly trafficking narcotics in the Mid-Market neighborhood. Authorities found over 2 pounds of fentanyl at the suspect’s Oakland residence while executing a search warrant, according to police.
