Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) — Five people were arrested in connection with two separate drug busts in the Slidell area in October. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reported that deputies searched a home in the 300 block of Brookhaven Court on Oct. 30, where 40-year-old Dennis Midkiff, 28-year-old Alicia Smith, 36-year-old Michael Midkiff and 55-year-old David Lambert reportedly lived. Through the investigation, STPSO detectives said they recovered about 38 grams of fentanyl powder, unlawfully possessed suboxone, Adderall, hydrocodone, alprazolam, drug paraphernalia and a semi-automatic handgun. New Orleans police investigate armed robberies in Marigny, French Quarter According to the STPSO, Dennis Midkiff and Smith were arrested in Covington, Michael Midkiff was arrested during a traffic stop and Lambert was arrested at the home. Dennis Midkiff faces two counts of distribution of a schedule II CDS (fentanyl), possession with the intent to distribute a schedule II CDS (fentanyl), possession of a schedule II CDS (Adderall), possession of a schedule II CDS (hydrocodone), possession of a schedule III CDS (suboxone), possession of a schedule IV CDS (Alprazolam), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smith faces charges of distribution of a schedule II CDS (fentanyl), possession of a schedule II CDS (fentanyl) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Michael Midkiff faces charges of possession of a schedule II CDS (fentanyl) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lambert faces a charge of possession of a schedule II CDS (fentanyl). During the search, STPSO detectives said they recovered 113 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl. According to the sheriff's office, Parker allegedly would not come to the door "and instead hid in a bathroom, where detectives found evidence to indicate Parker flushed drugs down the toilet." Man convicted of murder in death of NOPD officer STPSO detectives said a 2-year-old child was also reportedly in the home at the time of the search. Parker was arrested and faces two counts of distribution of a schedule II CDS (fentanyl), possession with the intent to distribute a schedule II CDS (fentanyl), obstruction of justice (destruction of evidence) and illegal use of a CDS in the presence of persons under 17 years of age. According to the STPSO, "In both cases, the Department of Children & Family Services was notified due to the fact children were living in the homes."
