NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)— A public meeting was held Thursday, Nov. 7 to discuss the redevelopment plan of Lincoln Beach.
Thursday marked the third set of meetings on the subject.
In 2023, the City Of New Orleans allocated more than $24 million to begin the engineering and master planning process.

In March, city officials announced a $4.1 million federal funding allocation to build an access bridge to the beach
They add that the money is dedicated to bringing the beach back to life.
U.S. Congressman Troy Carter said on March 12, that the beach is a symbol of Black history during the days of segregation in New Orleans. However, in the years following desegregation, he says it’s been left in despair.
Organizers are set to present the 30 most preferred elements of the plan identified through community input at a later meeting. From them, residents are asked to choose their top five.

"What we're looking for people to do is to prioritize the top five things people want to see at the beach. And that will help us with what we're actually going to build," said Cheryn Robles.
The second meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans East.
