Expect temperature to drop over weekend in Piedmont Triad

(WGHP) -- A near-record warm day in the Triad with highs reaching the low 80s! Our warm evening continues with partly cloudy skies and temperatures falling into the low 70s by 7 PM.
Temperatures will be in the low 60s Friday morning with partly cloudy skies to start the day. We'll watch temperatures warm right back up into the afternoon with many nearing 80 degrees again. Skies will become mostly sunny by the afternoon with a light northwest wind.
A late week cold front will allow temperatures to finally drop to near seasonable this weekend. We'll wake up in the upper 40s Saturday morning with afternoon highs in the mid 60s. Skies will be mostly sunny with a light northeast wind.
Clouds return into Sunday with even cooler temperatures. We'll wake up in the mid 40s Sunday morning and afternoon highs will reach the low 60s. Scattered showers will be possible on Sunday with a 50% chance for rain.
Showers linger overnight Sunday into early Monday morning but should taper off into the afternoon Monday. The chance for rain Monday is 20%. Skies will be partly cloudy to start the work week with morning temperatures in the mid 50s and highs in the low 70s.
Mostly sunny skies return Tuesday and Wednesday with morning temperatures Tuesday in the low 50s and highs reaching the upper 60s. Wednesday will be in the mid 40s in the morning and highs reach the mid 60s.
Temperatures get even cooler into Thursday with morning temperatures in the mid 40s and highs reaching the low 60s. Stray showers will be possible towards the end of the week with a 20% chance for rain.
