ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) - Students from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) joined forces with the National Railroad Museum on Thursday to bring holiday spirit to Ashwaubenon. Students in NWTC's gas utilities program set up electrical and mechanical systems for the museum’s Northern Lights display, along with a hot chocolate station. Organizers noted the project offers students real-world experience while making a meaningful impact on the community. Door County elementary school raises penny war funds for local VFW Post, present Veterans with check “It’s a win-win partnership,” said Douglas Grant, National Railroad Museum's Polar Express Casting Director. “We get projects done that would take us years to accomplish, and they get hands-on experience in a real-life scenario, rather than just watching in a lab.” Grant added that the partnership has propelled the museum far ahead of its usual installation schedule.
