NMSU women's soccer beats Jax State, advances to CUSA semifinals

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — New Mexico State women's soccer collected a 4-1 win over Jacksonville State in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Conference USA Women's Soccer Championship at FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami, Florida on Wednesday.
NMSU's all-time leading goal scorer, Loma McNeese, added two more goals to her career count as an Aggie. McNeese scored her first goal in the 66th minute to extend NMSU's lead over Jax State, 2-0.

Her second goal of the game came in the 68th minute that put NMSU up 3-0.

McNeese collected her 17th career assist at NMSU in the 20th minute of the game. McNeese was credited with an assist on Meredith Scott's goal that gave NMSU a 1-0 lead.

With the 17th assist of her career, McNeese surpassed teammate Bianca Chacon for the program record.
Jax State scored its only goal of the game in the 78th minute.
New Mexico State responded with another goal. Shila Rasoul's launched a shot from outside the box to record the Aggies' fourth goal of the game.

The Aggies will face the No. 2 seed Liberty Flames in a 2023 CUSA tournament final rematch on Friday, Nov. 8. Kickoff is at 2:00 p.m. MT.
