BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Career and Technical Education Center on Old River Road was briefly placed on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a potential threat that was later verified as not credible, according to the high school district. Officials with the Kern High School District told 17 News Thursday morning, that the Bakersfield Police Department asked the school to be placed on lockdown due to a potential threat on Wednesday afternoon. The facility was placed on a lockdown and officers arrived at the scene and verified there was no credible threat to students and staff.
