A 30-year-old man working on a 2013 Kia Optima was crushed to death overnight in a Long Island Pep Boys parking lot when the jack holding up the vehicle gave way. Suffolk County Police said they were called to the Bay Shore auto shop on Sunrise Highway around 9 a.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Stephan Edwards, trapped under the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. “The vehicle fell on him sometime during the overnight hours between November 6 and November 7,” a police report said. Cops said Edwards, who’s from Margate, Fla., doesn’t work for Pep Boys, according to the Daily Voice. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. The incident occurred roughly 40 miles east of Midtown Manhattan.
