TOPEKA (KSNT) - The City of Topeka has announced that a new one-million gallon water storage tank is now in service. On Thursday, the city announced that a new water tank serving the residents of western Topeka had opened. The water tank will serve residents in the Wanamaker business corridor. According to the city, the water tank is the second one serving the area. The first tank was built in 1979 and holds 500,000 gallons of water. The new water tank is located on the south side of Southwest 41st Street and Southwest Stutley Road, across from the first tower.
