Governor Healey attends new security gate unveiling at Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - State and local lawmakers gathered in Westfield on Thursday to celebrate the new Minuteman main gate at Barnes Air National Guard Base.

According to Barnes Air National Guard Base, the new gate will bring extra security to the wing. Governor Maura Healey, Congressman Richard Neal, and leaders at the base were there to mark the occasion.
The 104th Fighter Wing at Barnes ANG houses 21 assigned armed F-15C Eagle Aircraft. Personnel are trained to defend the northeastern United States as well as provide emergency response services to the state and country.
