During the ceremony, builders will place the final beam on the new building. The symbolic moment marks significant progress in the project, which the Healey Administration has helped secure millions of federal funding for.
When the building is finished, it'll house more than 230 long-term care patients, and staff will be increased by over 30 percent.
The ceremony is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Holyoke Veterans Home on 110 Cherry Street in Holyoke.
Construction started in August of 2023 and is currently ahead of schedule. The project is slated to finish in late 2026.
