Heavy snow is widespread across New Mexico
Nov 07, 2024
NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Winter Storm Warnings are widespread across New Mexico, including the Albuquerque Metro, as snow, gusty winds, and cold air will continue to be the main threats today especially into tomorrow for some, continuing the treacherous roadways, as well as power outages.
The strongest storm system of the season, which will bring in the most snow and coldest air for many thus far when all is set and done, is slowly approaching from the western New Mexico, becoming cutoff from the southward dip in the jet stream, allowing for moisture to continue pile on in. It's cold enough for snow to really continue to accumulate for most of the northern two-thirds of the Land of Enchantment with 30-40 mph wind gusts in the far Northeast Highlands especially, the Northern Mountains, as well as the Albuquerque Metro.
