RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Ladies Golf Too encourages women interested in golfing to join a community of like-minded folks and try it out on the green. 8News got some insight into the group and its events.
8News Anchors Delaney Hall and Autumn Childress spoke with Leslie Marie Moseley, president and founder of Ladies Golf Too in the morning on Wednesday, Nov. 7 about what the group entails.
Moseley described that the idea struck to create the group from her own experience.
"Interesting enough, I wanted to learn to play, myself," Moseley said. "I had been invited to charity events and we were on the course, and I was the cart girl, because I didn't know how to play. So because of that, I wanted to learn and I wanted to build community. And I felt like there were other women who wanted to play too, but we didn't have the confidence, because we didn't know how."
Moseley gave an overview of what a social hosted by the group looks like to give potential newcomers an idea of what to expect.
"You can expect an elevated experience," Moseley said. "Our clinics start with a stretch by a professional stretcher, she stretches us out for 10 to 15 minutes, because we want to make sure that the girls are good for their swing. Then, we have a trainer who facilitates for us, so that's about an hour lesson, and we have our social hour, because the girls have to be social."
Moseley said the group has these socials about two to three times a month, but the season is coming to an end. Spots are currently sold out until the end of the year.
She added that in January, the group will begin socials again indoors, and anyone interested in joining can visit the group's Instagram page.
