New Bedford man with 84 prior arraignments arrested in shooting incident

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A New Bedford man has been arrested in connection with an October 27 shooting incident outside of a city bar, according to New Bedford police.
Jordan Caetano, 43, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, attempt to commit assault and battery by discharge and possession of a large capacity firearm and feeding device among other charges.
The incident occurred outside the Redwood Saloon on Cove Road where police responded to reports of shots fired.
Officers located multiple shell casings at the scene.
Detectives conducted a search of Caetano’s apartment a week later and located a backpack that allegedly contained a large capacity handgun, a high-capacity feeding device and 255 rounds of ammunition and Caetano was taken into custody.
Caetano has 84 adult arraignments, was recently sentenced to four to six years in state prison for armed robbery, and was arrested in a domestic violence incident since his release.
He was released on a suspended sentence.
