SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Steven Sheangshang is set to appear in court Thursday afternoon for a change of venue hearing. Sheangshang is accused of killing Scott County Deputy Caleb Conley during a traffic stop on I-75 in Georgetown in May of 2023. Court records show he is charged with murder of an officer and robbery. The defense is alleging mental illness. Following Thursday’s hearing, Sheangshang is set to be back in court in December for a hearing to discuss removing the death penalty in the case.
