COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - From Veterans Day celebrations to the Ohio State Buckeyes, here are things to see and do this weekend in central Ohio. Franklin County Dog Shelter Foster Open House 4340 Tamarack Blvd, Columbus, Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon The first Foster Open House event invites community members to learn about the shelter's foster program, meet adoptable dogs and discover how fostering can make a difference for animals in need. No registration is necessary. Canal Winchester Veterans Day Celebration Downtown Canal Winchester, Nov. 9 starting at 8:30 a.m. The Veterans Day Celebration will begin with a complimentary pancake breakfast for veterans and their families at the Community Center. A Veterans March will follow at 10 a.m. March Through Time Ohio History Center, Nov. 9-10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Explore the stories of soldiers and learn more about Ohio's military history. Special programs include tours of the museum’s battle flag and World War I exhibits and artifacts, interactions with time-appropriate reenactors and hands-on activities. Ohio State vs. Purdue Ohio Stadium, Nov. 9 at noon The Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the Purdue Boilermakers at Ohio Stadium. Kickoff is set for noon. In honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 11, this will be Ohio State's Military Appreciation Game. The Bazaar also includes a silent auction, raffles, pick-a-prize and TWIG Cafe. The event is benefiting Nationwide Children's Hospital. OSU Marching Band Hometown Concert Mershon Auditorium, Nov. 10 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Ohio State University Marching Band is hosting its annual Hometown Concert to entertain fans with selections from its popular halftime shows, favorites and traditional Ohio State tunes.
