Gunman blasts rival near Lincoln Center, flees into subway tunnel: NYPD

A gunman shot a 47-year-old rival on an Upper West Side street, then escaped the area by running into a nearby subway tunnel Thursday, police said.
The shooter opened fire at W. 69th St. and Columbus Ave. — about three blocks from Lincoln Center — around 9:30 a.m., hitting his victim in the leg and shoulder.
EMS rushed the wounded man to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, where he was expected to survive.
Police said the gunman, who allegedly knew his victim, ran to the 72nd St. C/B/A station at Central Park West, where he jumped down onto the tracks and fled into a subway tunnel.
The gunman remained at large Thursday. No arrests have been made.
A motive behind the shooting was not immediately disclosed.
