WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - The Wichita Police Department announced Wednesday night that an arrest has been made in connection to the death of a 13-year-old boy.
"Following an in-depth investigation, probable cause was established to arrest a 19-year-old female," said the WPD in a news release. "The female suspect has been taken into custody and will be booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Murder."
According to the WPD, the female is the cousin of Jermall Campbell, who police issued a felony pick up for, and remains at large. Police confirm that they have presented their case against Campbell to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office for consideration of charges.
The 13-year-old boy, identified by his family as Donald Williams, was shot at the QuikTrip located at Central and Oliver on Oct. 31 around 10:30 p.m. He was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle, where he died. A 15-year-old boy also suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
Cambell is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has any information regarding his whereabouts, they are asked to call 911 immediately or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
KSN typically does not name individuals believed to be connected to a crime unless charges are filed. However, because Wichita police are requesting the public’s help and their concern for additional violence, KSN is releasing the information.
