SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - In commemoration of Veteran's Day next week, the 2024 Elk Veteran of the Year was honored at the Springfield Lodge of Elks number 61 Wednesday evening.
Many lodge and community members were in attendance, including Mayor Domenic Sarno, to salute the war hero who embodies bravery and selflessness.
The prestigious title of 2024 Elk Veteran of the Year was bestowed upon Terry Glusko, who served in the Air Force for nearly 30 years. "Sacrifice means freedom, and freedom means sacrifice," remarks Glusko. "This is a very important night and weekend for veterans and I think that everybody as they see a veteran should thank a veteran."
