CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Donald Trump has been reelected as president of the United States after Tuesday's election against Vice President Kamala Harris.
America has spoken, and Donald Trump will once again serve as president of the United States, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in a nail-biting, historic race.
The question now is, how will his second round in the Oval Office compare to his last? "I felt that the country was better off and better managed under Trump," said one 22News viewer. While another telling us, "I'm anxious to know if Trump can bring people together."
Political analysts say Obama and Biden Era legislation could be at stake, including the Affordable Care Act, and Trump's 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act could prevail. "But there is something else about this presidency, it's his only presidency," says Political Consultant Tony Cignoli. "He can't run for re-election. That gives him more unfettered ability to go after and do anything he wants to."
Local investment advisors also weighing in on how Trump could impact the economy. Mark Teed with Raymond James & Associates told 22News, "He wants to clear out some of those regulations, the "red tape" that stands in the way of them doing business or expanding--so that's a real positive for him."
In the meantime, Kamala Harris has conceded defeat to Trump, leaving her supporters and the rest of America with a message of hope as she finishes her term as Vice President. "Let us fill the sky with the light of a billion stars, they light of faith, of truth, and service," said Harris.
