CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - It may be November, but it still feels like summer to some people across the region. Wednesday temperature highs reached 81 degrees in Chicopee. Mental health experts say temperatures between 50 to 70 degrees are instant mood boosters. "The weather is perfect, it's nice, I went shopping and now I'm going home to cook," says Waleska Marcial of Springfield. Around this time of year high temperatures are usually in the 50s. Some of New England's mountains usually begin to see their first snowfall this time of year. "I'm ready for the cold. I think... I don't know it's not normal at this time of year to be this hot" says Raymon Rodriguez of Springfield. Highs are still expected across western Massachusetts through Friday. One reason for higher than-usual temperatures is above-average temperatures in the Atlantic and North Pacific.
