Savannah State football looks to close out season with a win

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah State football team bounced back nicely after a homecoming loss two weeks ago to win senior night last Saturday.
Savannah State defeated Albany State, 28-26. The Tigers were leading after the third quarter, 28-19. In the fourth, Savannah State gave up a touchdown which saw their lead shrink to two points.
From that point, Savannah State drained 3:15 off the clock before punting, then recovered a muffed punt and took a knee for the win.
This weekend, they travel up to Columbia, S.C. to play Benedict College. Benedict is 3-4 in the conference after losing to Fort Valley State.
"We take each week one game at a time," Head Coach Aaron Kelton said. "We'll worry about that as it comes. Hopefully we're able to win this weekend and keep ourselves with a chance for whatever could come at the end."
Savannah State plays at Benedict College is Saturday at 2 p.m.
