Dozens of chihuahuas rescued from hoarder house in Socorro have been adopted

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – More than half of the 98 chihuahuas rescued from a Socorro hoarder house in April have a home Wednesday night. "We're so thrilled that the 36 chihuahuas we brought into our care in April, we can now officially announce that all of them found their forever homes," said Associate Director of Marketing Madison Beets, Animal Humane New Mexico.

East Mountain Companion Animal Project, Animal Humane New Mexico, and Española Humane rescued the chihuahuas. East Mountain led the operation and said the dogs were malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas. As of Wednesday at Española Humane, all 11 of their dogs were adopted including one female who had three pups.
