The Spurs are back in action and need to adapt after losing Sochan for an extended period Welcome to the Game Thread. Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much.
With Jeremy Sochan out for an extended period, the Spurs are looking to re-establish themselves just when things were starting to come together for the rebuilding team. Mitch Johnson will continue as interim coach as Pop is still out with an undisclosed illness. While that’s a lot of bad news for the Silver and Black, it’s also an opportunity.
There will be a different opening lineup tonight, and with Devin Vassell still out, it’s likely that Malaki Branham will be starting, with Castle as backup while Blake Wesley will return to the rotation after spending most of the last couple of weeks in Mitch’s doghouse. Tre Jones is still missing so it’s all hands on deck, and Sidy Cissoko and some of the two-way players might end up playing some non-garbage time minutes. I’m looing for David Duke Jr., Harrison Ingram and Riley Minix to get some run in the next couple of weeks, maybe even in tonight’s game.
Game Prediction:
Victor Wembanyama will block every shot that Alperen Sengun attempts in the game.
One final word:
Go Spurs GOOOOOO!!
