MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly shoplifting around $16,000 worth of merchandise from at least 17 stores over the last two months. Police said Charity Evans, 23, was wanted by the Memphis Police Department and several other jurisdictions and had multiple warrants for shoplifting in Shelby County. Courtesy: MPD She was booked in the Shelby County Jail for felony and misdemeanor theft of property charges. Investigators said between September 3 and November 4, Evans shoplifted at least 22 times at 17 different stores in Memphis. According to court records, Evans usually had help and shoplifted multiple times at some of the stores. Charity Evans (SCSO) Police said Evans and two others hit the Sally Beauty Supply store on North Germantown Parkway twice and stole multiple flat irons, hair clipping blades, and other hair care items valued at $1,300. Evans is also accused of taking nearly $2,800 worth of items from the Academy in the 7900 block of Giacosa Place during two shoplifting sprees. Police said Evans was among five females who shoplifted at the Walgreens in the 4600 block of Poplar on Sept. 3 and Sept. 6 and threw bottles of nail polish at a clerk who tried to stop them. The women got away with $1,100 of merchandise. Evans is facing an assault charge in that case. Last month, police released pictures of five women, including Evans, wanted for numerous shoplifting charges. Courtesy: MPD Alleged serial shoplifters wanted by MPD Tamara Williams, 23, and Keyamber Kizzie, 23, were both arrested. Williams is being held on a $411,000 bond. Evans is being held without bond and is set to appear in court on Thursday. Brianna Neal and Meoshia Neal were still wanted with an active warrant.
