MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Some South Memphis residents ducked for cover early Sunday morning after a domestic disturbance erupted into gunfire, police say. MPD has arrested one man and is searching for anotherafter someone opened fire on a house in the 400 block of Fernwood Avenue. 300 block of Fernwood. WREG photo No one was hurt in the shooting, but at least two other homes were damaged. One neighbor who didn't want to be identified said she heard the barrage of gunfire, and a bullet hit her house. When she got up, she found a bullet hole in her kitchen window. "The cops were like, what? They were investigating four or five houses down and were like, what? How did your house get hit?" said the neighbor. Investigators said a man followed his ex-girlfriend to her home on Fernwood and fired shots toward her house after they got into an argument. The victim said her ex-boyfriend was with his cousin, later identified as Disomany Ayers. She said Ayers was also firing a gun as they drove away. One bullet went through her front window. Diosmany Ayers Another neighbor who also wanted to remain anonymous said when the shooting started, she hid in her bathroom. One bullet hit the side of her house. "I was still shaking when police got here," she said. Police have charged Ayers with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. The victim's ex-boyfriend has not been arrested. Ayers is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
