City of El Paso International Airport launches infrastructure projects with federal support

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - The City of El Paso, Mayor Oscar Leeser, Congresswoman Veronica Escobar and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will host a press conference to announce seven significant infrastructure projects set to begin at the El Paso International Airport.
The press conference will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at the courtyard of the Rental Car Center, 6701 Convair Rd.
The City said these projects are designed to enhance safety, improve passenger experience and support sustainability.
Project highlights include:
5-Node Taxiway Remediation Project -- $26.8 million via FAA AIP Discretionary Funding
Solar Array Installation at Rental Car Center -- $3 million via FAA Supplemental Funding
General Aviation Ramp Reconstruction -- $10.6 million via FAA AIG BIL Funding
Sustainability Master Plan -- $360,000 via FAA Supplemental Funding
Terminal Roof Replacement Phase 1 -- $813,000 via FAA Supplemental Funding
Solar Array at Short-Term Parking Lot -- $1.75 million via Community Project Funding
Terminal Drive Bridge Replacement -- $850,000 via Community Project Funding
"These projects underscore the City of El Paso’s commitment to advancing airport infrastructure and environmental stewardship, positioning El Paso International Airport as a leader in modern, sustainable aviation facilities," read the news release.
