EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Incumbent Carrie Hamblen, a Democrat, is the apparent winner against Samantha R. Barncastle Salopek, a Republican, in the New Mexico State senator race in District 38 for the Doña Ana County, according to unofficial results released early Wednesday morning, Nov. 6.
Hamblen led with 51 percent or 8,465 votes, leaving Barncastle Salopek with 49 percent or 8,276 votes.
