Lexington Co., SC (WOLO) — The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department wants to make sure area residents are not caught off guard if they happen to see surveyors in their neighborhood Thursday November 7, 2024. Authorities say, the Federal Emergency Management Division (FEMA) will be making their way through several communities in the county that have where hurricane Helene left behind damage.
Deputies say the officials who will be canvassing the area are legitimate FEMA representatives, but if you have any doubt you can ask for the individuals to prove it. Officials say anyone checking out the damage with the agency will be wearing FEMA attire and will have proper identification on hand.
