(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs Ballot Issue 2C passed with 73.35% voting for the issue and 26.65% against it as of Wednesday, Nov. 6, around 2 p.m. Mayor Yemi Mobolade sent a reaction to the passing of the ballot issue. “Colorado Springs, I want to extend my deepest and most heartfelt thanks to you for passing ballot measure 2C! I am grateful for your support of this 10-year renewal of our road repair and maintenance program, without raising taxes," said Mayor Mobolade. "This proven program means smoother, safer roads to work, schools, hospitals, military installations, your favorite restaurants, and our homes." Ballot Issue 2C proposed a 10-year continuation of an existing program where a .56% temporary city sales and use tax is used exclusively for road repairs and improvements. "I SEE you and I thank you for your investment in our community," said Mobolade. "Here’s to smoother roads ahead, and our continued efforts to build a city of great neighbors and neighborhoods.”
