FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said its Community Action Suppression Team seized a firearm from a 16-year-old on Nov. 5.
The suspect was charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and carrying a firearm without a license.
Police were in the area of Pulaski Park around 3 p.m. when they when they observed three males apparently “intently monitoring motorist as they passed by.”
When officers approached the males, one ran into the park while clutching his waistband and ignoring verbal commands from police.
Police said they searched the male and found semi-automatic Taurus 9mm with an extended magazine and 20 rounds of ammunition.
