NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Virginia State Police responded to two crashes in the same area of I-64 in Norfolk Wednesday morning. The first call came in at 7:05 a.m. about a multi-vehicle crash near Tidewater Drive in the westbound lanes. State Police confirmed there were four vehicles involved in that crash. No serious injuries were reported. Three minutes later, VSP was alerted to a crash a short distance away, also westbound on I-64, just east of the Chesapeake Blvd. exit. There were no injuries. According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), all west lanes were closed on I-64R near Tidewater Drive while crews worked to clear that scene.
