Expect warm, muggy day in Piedmont Triad
Nov 06, 2024
(WGHP) -- Warm and muggy on Thursday with less humid conditions on Friday.
A surge of moisture from Georgia and South Carolina will move north. That means we could have some showers on Thursday morning with temperatures in the lower 60s. Our rain chances will drop Thursday afternoon. But on Thursday evening, our rain chances will pick up again as a cold front approaches the Virginia/North Carolina border. Highs on Thursday could be near 80 degrees! Our record high of 82 degrees should be safe. Chance of rain 30%.
We will be behind the cold front on Friday. So, look for cooler temperatures and less humid air. Our skies will be partly cloudy with highs in the middle 70s. The normal high for November 8th is 63 degrees.
Saturday, partly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s.
A pocket of cool air will develop over the Piedmont on Sunday. Our skies will be cloudy with a few showers possible. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 40s and highs in the middle 60s. Sunday's highs will be closer to our seasonal averages. Chance of rain 30%.
Above average temperatures will return on Monday. Look for partly cloudy skies with lows in the middle 50s and highs in the lower 70s. Chance of rain 30%.
Tuesday, partly cloudy with lows in the lower 50s and highs in the lower 70s.
Wednesday, partly cloudy with lows in the upper 40s and highs in the upper 60s.
In the tropics, after making landfall across Cuba, Hurricane Rafael will move into the Gulf of Mexico. Long range models have the hurricane moving west across the Gulf of Mexico and slowly dissipating. So far, it looks like Hurricane Rafael will not make landfall in the United States.
