WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) -- World leaders in the middle of wars are weighing in on President-elect Donald Trump's return to the White House. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among the first to congratulate Trump Wednesday and called his win "history's greatest comeback." "We are looking forward to working with him," said Danny Danon, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations. Danon noted the close relationship between the U.S. and Israel. "We have major tasks ahead of us," Danon said. "The enemies of the United States are the enemy of Israel." Trump has been a strong supporter of Israel in its war against Hamas, and Netanyahu even fired Israel's pro-ceasefire defense minister while Americans were voting Tuesday. However, Palestinians in Gaza warned a Trump White House would do little to help them. "We know Trump to be a rabid, fanatical and extremist person, and he will negatively affect the Palestinian people," said Muhammad Miqdad, who is displaced from Rafah. While it is still unclear exactly how Trump would help end the war in Gaza, he has been more specific about Russia's war in Ukraine, indicating he could quickly end U.S. support for Ukraine. "This is the most dangerous time since right before WWII," said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, (R-Ky.). McConnell has been one of the biggest supporters in Congress of Ukraine aid. He said at the U.S. Capitol Wednesday his focus in this next Trump White House will remain on defense and foreign policy. "It's a lot cheaper to prevent a war than it is to have one," McConnell said.  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Trump and said his country relies "on continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States." However, Trump has also touted his friendly relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
