CSFD responds to chlorine release Wednesday morning in a local hotel

The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) responded to a small chlorine release in the Satellite Hotel's basement on Wednesday morning. Three people were treated for injuries on scene after chlorine inhalation. CSFD Captain JJ Halsey said the building's first floor was evacuated, while those on the second floor and above were advised to shelter in place.CSFD said the release started at around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Initial reports indicate the release occurred during routine maintenance.
