BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Amber Harrell of Cat Haven introduced a beautiful cat named Arya. She's about five years old and is super sweet. She has some allergy issues, but she's not really affected by it. She has a little sniffle, but she's okay. She loves to play, but also loves relaxing and snuggling up. Arya has a chill personality so she would do well in a calm family. Her adoption fee is $125. You can visit Cat Haven's website to fill out an adoption application. If you want a different type of cat, you can see all of the available options on their website. If you can't adopt at this time, consider fostering. Fostering allows the person to get used to owning a pet for the first time. Or if they're already experienced, they're helping the shelter by providing a home, food and love for a cat or multiple cats. This frees up space in the shelter and allows more cats to be rescued. It also lets the cat experience living in a home and getting used to a constant guardian. If fostering is not an option either, you can still help the shelter by making monetary donations or sending in donations of cat supplies. Want to adopt a new pet? The event will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 at GolfSuites Baton Rouge. The local rescue is also hosting a pet portrait fundraiser throughout November called Renoir or Faux Paw.
