A 66-year-old man died after he was struck by a car on an El Cajon street late Thursday afternoon, police said.
The man was struck by a Ford Fusion on South Magnolia Avenue south of Washington Avenue just after 5:15 p.m., Lt. Darrin Forster said in a news release.
Forster said the man was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name was not released, pending his family’s notification of his death.
The driver of the Ford “remained on scene and has been fully cooperative with the investigation,” Forster said, adding that neither alcohol nor drugs is suspected to have played a role in the collision.
The police department asks anyone with information regarding the collision to call 619-579-3311.
