WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Vice President Kamala Harris will speak at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Howard University following her loss to former President Donald Trump. Trump reached the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency after gaining Wisconsin early Wednesday morning, according to the Associated Press. Harris' campaign held an election night watch party at Howard; however, she did not deliver remarks. Kamala Harris to address the nation Wednesday She graduated from the historically Black university in 1986 with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and economics. On Wednesday, supporters lined up at Howard to hear Harris speak for the first time since Trump was declared the projected winner of the presidential race. Titus Warren, who was the first person in line, said they were ready to see Harris and were still hopeful about the presidential election results. "The outcome is not over yet. We still have some votes in Pennsylvania that needed to be counted," Warren said. "We must wait and figure out what the end result will be."   Warren said if they could say something to Harris, they would tell her, "You did it! You did it. You represented well. You represented not only the LGBTQIA+ community, you represented all of us. All of us minority, all of us that wanted hope and joy in this country, people that wanted to feel safe, they had that with you. Now that you are getting ready to leave, so many people don't feel so safe."
