2 women charged in Montgomery County for allegedly planning to kill exboyfriend

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Two women are facing charges after allegedly planning to kill one of their ex-boyfriends, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD).
Police said on June 28, detectives were contacted by a case worker at the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Family Justice Center. The caseworker told authorities that they had received information that 53-year-old Adelaida Consuelo Zacarias Chacon, of Germantown, had allegedly attempted to hire someone to kill her ex-boyfriend.

According to MCPD's investigation, detectives discovered a communication line between Zacarias Chacon and her former sister-in-law, 40-year-old Reyna Gomez Lopez.
Their investigation revealed that Zacarias Chacon had allegedly paid Gomez-Lopez $1,000 to find a person willing to commit the murder. Police said detectives also found a bank transfer confirming the payment.

Zacarias Chacon and Gomez Lopez were arrested by Montgomery County Task Force Officers assigned to the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.
Authorities charged Zacarias Chacon with first-degree conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree solicitation to commit murder. She is being held at the Central Processing Unit and is awaiting a bond hearing.
Gomez Lopez is facing first-degree conspiracy to commit murder. She is awaiting extradition to Montgomery County.
