Join the Library of Congress for a Veterans Day Family Program this Saturday!
Nov 06, 2024
Every month, the Library of Congress hosts a special Family Day, when visitors of all ages are invited to participate in collections-based activities for budding researchers and explore exhibitions on display in the Thomas Jefferson Building. Each program includes a creative activity, connections to Library of Congress collections, a chance to talk to staff experts, and a guide to using Library resources at home.
This Saturday, November 9, the Family Day highlights Veterans Day, with activities related to the national holiday. Dig into the role Victory Gardens played on the home front during the two World Wars, decorate a plant pot, and pick up seeds for your own herb harvest. And learn more about how Americans contributed to the war effort and supported the troops overseas.
Activities will be held on the mezzanine level of the Jefferson Building from 10:30am to 3:30pm. The event is free, but tickets are required.

This post is sponsored by the Library of Congress, however, I only promote programs, events, and places that I genuinely believe in and think would appeal to KFDC readers.
