Tuesday night was a good night for incumbents in local government.
In the only city race, Tallahassee City Commissioner Curtis Richardson defeated Dot Inman-Johnson by approximately 1,200 votes in what was likely Richardson’s last campaign. The win means there will be no change in the make-up of the city commission this election cycle.
In two Leon County Commission races, bot incumbents cruised to victory. In an at-large seat, Commissioner Carolyn Cummings defeated David Hawkins and in District 4 Commissioner Brian Welch defeated challenger Issac Montilla.
In the race for school superintendent, incumbent Rocky Hanna defeated Chiles principal, Joe Burgess.
