Record warmth and gusty winds today along with abundant sunshine and fire danger. Temperatures will climb into the mid-70s.  In Providence, 75 is the record set in 2022, my forecast is 77.  Sunny skies will reign with gusty winds fueling the Red Flag Warning in place through this evening across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.  NWS states that any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.  Avoid outdoor burning or any activity that will ignite a spark.  Meanwhile, a dry cold front is approaching the region and allow for a gradual cooldown tomorrow into the weekend with another front tapping into Rafael’s moisture and transporting some of it to our region Sunday night into Monday.
