General election day goes smoothly in Hughes and Stanley Counties

The voting and ballot counting processes for Tuesday’s (Nov. 5, 2024) general election went smoothly in both Hughes and Stanley County.
Hughes County Finance Officer Thomas Oliva says there was 67% voter turnout.

Stanley County Auditor Phil Burtch says election day went smoothly there as well.

Both Burtch and Oliva credit their election workers for helping the day flow smoothly.

The Hughes County Commission and the Stanley County Commission will both meet tomorrow/Thursday (Nov. 7, 2024) to canvass the election results during their regular weekly meeting. It is open to the public.
