Courtesy of Alpha Media Lincoln.LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 6)–Voters across Nebraska on Tuesday decided several key ballot initiatives, including two measures regarding abortion.
Both abortion initiatives, 434 and 439, received votes in support of both of them, but in the end the measure with the most votes, 434, would become law. Initiative 434 would limit abortions after the first trimester, with exceptions for medical reasons, sexual assault and incest. Initiative 439 would have created a constitutional right to abortion.
Also on the ballot, 58% of voters in Nebraska voted to repeal Initiative 435, which authorizes the scholarship program for private schools. About 74% of Nebraska voters approved of Initiative 436, which requires paid sick leave.
