LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Fayette County voters have approved a new property tax to support enhancements to Lexington’s public parks.
According to the latest results, 61% of voters supported the tax for a public “Park Fund,” while 39% were opposed.
Starting January 1, the tax will fund improvements across various recreational facilities. Officials say the revenue will go towards enhancing walking and hiking trails, upgrading swimming pools and playgrounds, and expanding dog parks, among other park facilities.
