WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is dead as the result of a crash on US 421 on Tuesday night, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department. At around 8:36 p.m. on Tuesday, officers came to the area of US 421 and Reidsville Road after getting a report of a crash. Man dies after shooting at Greensboro Sheetz, suspect arrested, police say At the scene, police found a 2002 Ford vehicle in the median as well as Selvin Lamar Wright, 28, of Winston-Salem who was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say that the 2002 Ford was going north on US 421 when the vehicle lost control, went over the guardrail and came to a stop in the median between northbound and southbound US 421. The impact of the crash ejected Wright from the car, according to police. He then landed in the southbound lanes of US 421 where he was then struck by oncoming traffic. The WSPD's Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the deadly crash. Investigators say that it is not known what caused the 2002 Ford to lose control at this time and that Wright's next-of-kin has been notified. There is no further information available at this time.
