He said, "Congratulations to President Trump! Congratulations to my new Senate and House colleagues! This election was a choice between hope and more hurt. Americans chose hope. Let’s get to work." Sen. Bill Cassidy congratulated Trump and talked about Republicans taking control of the United States Senate. He said, "Congratulations to President Trump, VP-elect Vance, and their families on the victory. I am excited that Republicans have decisively taken control of the Senate. This creates a great opportunity to advance a conservative agenda!" Rep. Clay Higgins said, "Trump is now 3-0…" Congresswoman Julia Letlow also commented on Trump's election win. She said, "Congratulations to President @realDonaldTrump. I look forward to working with you to make America great again!" House Majority Leader Steve Scalise released the following statement. "Last night the American people spoke loud and clear and resoundingly rejected the disastrous far-left direction of the Biden-Harris Administration. As returns continue to come in, it appears that voters have handed Republicans unified control of Washington, with House Republicans expected to hold our majority. "Starting with President Trump’s overwhelming victory to return to the White House as the 47th President of the United States, we have been given a rare opportunity to jointly confront the challenges our country faces. Despite the difficult map we faced and the heavy outspending from the Democrats, House Republicans defied the odds and did what they said couldn’t be done. This is a testament to our great candidates, battle-tested Members, and the voters who had enough of the inflation, crime, open borders, wokeness and chaos around the world caused by Democrats. "As we continue to monitor results and ensure every legal ballot is counted properly, as your House Majority Leader I have already begun working with President Trump and Senate Republicans to be ready to deliver on the mandate the American people gave us to fix our country."
