EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Incumbent El Paso County Tax Assessor-Collector Ruben P. Gonzalez emerged as the unofficial winner against Dave Marino after the final unofficial voting results were released at about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Democrat Gonzalez led with 77.57 percent or 148,278 votes, leaving Libertarian Marino with 22.43 percent or 42,865 votes. Gonzalez, who has served in the position since 2017, defeated Art Lujan Seelig in the Democratic primary. Marino ran unopposed in the Libertarian Party. The County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office collects property taxes for the county. The office also collects state and county fees; automotive license renewals and registrations; title transfers; beer, wine and liquor licenses; occupational permits; and hotel occupancy taxes. In El Paso County Constable Precinct 4, incumbent Democrat Luis "Louie" Aguilar is the apparent winner with 62.16 percent or 17,967 votes, leaving Republican Ozzie Carrasco with 37.84 percent or 10,954 votes. Aguilar beat Robert Lopez in the Democratic primary, while Carrasco ran unopposed in the Republican primary. Precinct 4 covers portions of the Eastside roughly between George Dieter Drive and Zaragoza Road.
