PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Bakersfield man was arrested in his home Monday morning after he was found sending illicit messages to a minor. According to Porterville Police, 22-year-old Eladio Cordero Lara was arrested for contacting a minor for sexual purposes, sending harmful material to seduce a minor, and possession of child sexual abuse material. Detectives with Porterville Police and officers with Bakersfield Police Department say they executed a search and arrest warrant at the 22-year-old's home on the 600 Block L Street in Bakersfield on Monday at around 6:45 a.m. after an investigation revealed he was sending illicit messages to a minor. Prop 36, which would increase penalties for theft and drug arrests, passed by California voters Lara was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility where he is being held on a $95,000 bail.
